If you are looking for some oh-so-southern wedding inspiration, you are reading the right blog post! With it’s acres of manicured lawns, oak tree lined driveways, and “Gone With The Wind” style plantation house, this venue was the perfect canvas for Kellie and Langdon’s wedding! Kellie paid so much attention to every detail in creating this perfect wedding event. One of my favorite details was the quail feather bowtie that Langdon wore. With his ensemble, he could be the spokes model for Pebble Hill Plantation. Even his cuff links and buttons were quail.
After the ceremony, which was held on the front lawn of Pebble Hill’s antebellum mansion, the couple was escorted away in a horse drawn carriage. They arrived at Sugar Hill Barn to hundreds of guests waiting to dine and dance the night away.
What an honor it was to be your wedding photographers, Kellie and Langdon! Thank you for putting your trust in us and allowing us to create images for you to share for generations! I’m so glad you chose to create an album. We will be sure to follow up this post by sharing a few images of your beautiful hand-made, leather bound storybook.
With plenty time to stroll along the downtown and riverside areas, we were able to get some of the most amazing photographs of the beautiful couple and their fun wedding party. At Trinity Episcopal Church, Hannah and Will exchanged their vows. Then the wedding party and guests made a short walk to the Gibson Inn where a fantastic dinner (with oysters of course) was served. Following dinner, Hannah's dad fired up his own band and played one southern rock song after another. It was pretty obvious that this group were no strangers to a great party!
The riverfront lawn of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel was the perfect setting for Madison and Will's wedding day celebration. The outdoor ceremony and reception was held under a canopy of beautiful ancient oaks. We loved the simple elegance of Madison's wedding gown and Will's choice of white dinner jacket. Congratulations to Madison and Will, we wish you a life time of happiness.
Last spring, Lahcen Boufedji and his fiancee, Amanda, held an elegant wedding at The Estate. The Estate is a beautiful wedding venue in the Buckhead suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. It features a grand mansion with beautifully landscaped grounds. Their wedding was outdoors on the front steps of the house with guests looking on from the front lawn. Immediately following the ceremony, the couple hosted a cocktail hour in the large rooms and glass framed porches of the house. The mansion also features a large ballroom for dancing and dining during the reception. While this venue is an historic building, it is beautifully furnished with modern artwork and decor. We were honored to photograph Lahcen and Amanda's wedding, as Lahcen himself is an Atlanta area wedding photographer. You can see some of his work here: http://www.lahcenboufedji.com/
Rebecca and Michael filled their beautiful spring wedding day with nothing but smiles and joy at the Carl House in Atlanta, Georgia. This super sweet couple got ready for their wedding at the Villas of Chateu Elan, then arrived at the gorgeous ceremony gardens of the Carl House estate to say their vows to each other. Capturing the bride and groom's pictures were nothing shy of simple. Not only did they look fantastic, they were also very interactive and fun during the shoot which made it really easy to capture their personalities. The venue was full of different landscapes, from the rolling hills to the outstanding gardens that made each picture unique as the day went on. The reception was held in the elegant ballroom of the Carl House where their guests were treated to a wonderful dinner and music for entertainment. After a fun, unforgettable evening, the newly weds made a grand exit in the groom's family's vintage corvette.
Ellen and Chase's wedding at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel could not have been any more elegant. This venue in Savannah, Georgia was landscaped and decorated beautifully for their event. The gorgeous outdoor garden area and front balcony was a great space to capture these two before the wedding. The chapel was furnished with three grand antique chandeliers and rustic hardwood floors that gave it a unique look. The grand ballroom really made an impression that evening. The gorgeous decorations by Carlson's Premier Events and Joann's Florist made the event so elegant and memorable. Ellen and Chase's personalities were definitely the highlight of the day, which portrayed beautifully in every picture of them. We loved being able to capture this couples wedding and wish them the best!
Janna and Ross have to be two of the most fun-loving and energetic free spirits we've met so far. They could not have asked for a more perfect day to tie the knot. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the river front lawn of the Jekyll Island Club Hotel witnessed by some of their closest friends and family. This historic Coastal Georgia hotel has been the backdrop to, dare I say, thousands of amazing weddings; but I do believe it hasn't seen many receptions that could hold a candle to the party these two hosted for their guests! The old oaks were lit up throughout the evening with the glow of love and laughter as couples danced late into the night.
We wish Janna and Ross a lifetime of love and generations of happiness. ~ Jeff and Julie
Congratulations to Kathryn and Jordan! We were so honored to be a part of their wedding day celebration. This couple's southern wedding was certainly sweet and intimate, including their closest friends and family. The ceremony was held on the front lawn of her mother's estate. They then hosted a poolside reception under a grand tent in which they enjoyed dancing and celebrating late into the evening.
Congratulations to Kelly and Ken! Their open chapel wedding at Highgrove Farm was nothing slight of beautiful. Both Kelly and Ken were super sweet, fun, and energetic on their wedding day. Highgrove Farm's pecan orchards and fish pond allowed for fantastic landscapes to capture in all of the wedding pictures. The open chapel is definitely a favorite of this venue for us because of the amount of natural light that pours in. We were so happy to be able to capture Kelly and Ken's wedding day for them and wish them the best in their new life together.
Cary Anne and Ben's wedding was a perfect example of an elegant home wedding. Cary Anne's parents hosted the entire event at their beautiful country home. The ceremony was held on the back lawn overlooking their private pond, and the reception was held on the front lawn with a band and dance floor set up in the barn for the guests to enjoy. We especially loved the white wedding theme! From white dinner jackets for the groomsmen to white bridesmaids dresses and the hundreds of white flowers adorning the property, every detail was bathed in elegant shades of white.
Photographing a wedding at The Vinoy Renaissance in St. Petersburg, Florida is simply amazing. The resort and golf club is located on Tampa Bay and is host to so many perfect photographic opportunities. There is a marina with gorgeous yachts and sailboats to serve as an interesting backdrop for the event. The resort itself is an historic jewel modernized with amenities every bride has come to expect. This bride and groom hosted their guests to a rooftop ceremony under an elegantly draped pergola followed by a night of dinner and dancing in the resort's 1920's-era Grand Ballroom.
This beautiful wedding weekend began with an Indian ceremony to welcome Jacky into Sunny's family and culture. Jacky was dressed in beautiful traditional Indian attire including a richly adorned red sari, elaborate jewelry and facial jewels called bindi. The palms of her hands were decorated in elaborate mendhi designs. While Jacky was busy getting dressed for the ceremony, Sunny arrived to Glendalough Manor, the wedding venue, in grand Hindu style. The Baraat consisted of jubilant music while Sunny's friends and family paraded and danced around his car to celebrate his arrival. After this colorful display of welcoming the groom to his ceremony, Jacky joined him in a very festive rite full of Indian rituals. I must admit, an Indian wedding is a joy to photograph with the visual display of vibrant colors and the emotional display of joy and excitement!
Shelley and Luke's South Georgia wedding was held at Horse Creek Winery in Nashville, Georgia. The winery is a wedding venue with great southern charm! It has acres and acres of lush grape vines as a perfect background for an outdoor wedding. We just love the way the bride incorporated wine corks in her groom's boutonniere and all of the floral bouquets as well as wine barrels for tables. There were vintage elements throughout the reception decor as well as a splash of modern sophistication. On a tented lawn with accent lighting of cafe lights, lanterns, and candles, the reception went on into the night. Of course, Horse Creek Winery has a fantastic wine selection as well as a unique wine "slushy" for those hot summer nights. After hours of dancing, great food and that wonderful wine, the guests lined the drive with extra large sparklers to create a grand exit for the bride and groom.
A beautiful couple in a beautiful setting is only the beginning of what made this Tampa, Florida, wedding so perfect. Emily and Kyle had the kind of chemistry that is easily translated into the most amazing wedding photographs. Kyle literally never stopped smiling from the moment he layed eyes on Emily in her stunning wedding gown. The couple had a traditional church ceremony followed by a reception in Tampa's exclusive Avila Golf and Country Club.
Having an engagement session is a great way for you to get to know your photographer and his or her style of shooting. It's also great for your photographer to get to see how comfortable you are with the camera. Brittany and Glen's engagement session was shot in the streets and alleys of downtown Valdosta. This couple was completely natural with being photographed and had such a great time with it!
Megan and Tim's St. Augustine wedding was an all-time favorite of ours for many reasons. Firstly, we love the old city of St. Augustine, Florida, and all of it's historical beauty. The town sits on the Matanzas River and is only a short drive over the famed Bridge of Lions from the Atlantic Ocean beaches. St. Augustine is renowned for being the oldest city in America, and this couple embraced that with a ceremony in one of the oldest churches still standing, Grace United Methodist Church. The details in the architecture of this church are beyond amazing, which of course makes for a beautiful setting to get married. After the ceremony, the guests and couple were transported the scenic way through Old Towne via trolleys to the Government House Museum.
On a perfect sunny day in June at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida, Bethany and Reggie hosted a wedding to remember. The couple said their vows on the back lawn of the club. Their custom made pergola draped in crystals, flowers, and sheer fabric was the centerpiece for what would become the beginning of a new life together. Both of them are blessed with wonderful families and great friends who came together on this day in celebration for this sweet couple.
Satilla and Brock’s island wedding was an intimate event held at the Villa de Suenos mansion on St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. This estate is located on the island’s East Beach and overlooks Gould’s Inlet. It features Spanish style architecture with lots of great nooks for some amazing bridal portraits. One of our favorite details of the house is its underground wine cellar which has stone walls and floors and a beautiful arched wood ceiling….so very romantic!
With the wedding party dressed in neutral tones and the floral decor in all white, the theme was certainly “simple elegance”. The couple said their vows on the ocean-front lawn with their closest friends and family in attendance. Following the ceremony, the guests were treated to a buffet dinner of southern cuisine. After dancing and celebrating well into the evening, Satilla and Brock made an exit through a cloud of bubbles created by the guests.
Congratulations to a super sweet couple. We wish you a lifetime of happiness! ~ Jeff and Julie
Jill and Craig’s wedding was one of the happiest events we have ever been a part of. Every family member and friend in attendance seemed overjoyed to be a part of this sweet couple’s celebration. With the perfect setting of Buckhead’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, the wedding party and guests enjoyed a beautiful traditional Jewish ceremony followed by a reception of great food, plentiful drinks, and hours of dancing.
Perhaps you might see a trend among our "favorite places".....coastal, ocean front, bay side, exclusive resorts. Yes, wedding photography has it's perks. This feature tells the story of Shannon and Sid's Sea Island wedding at The Cloister. Sea Island along side St. Simons, Jekyll, and Little St. Simons are the four barrier islands that Georgia boasts as it's Golden Isles.
This couple chose The Cloister's Garden venue for their wedding site. Canopied by moss covered branches of old oaks, they ceremoniously began their lives together as husband and wife. Guests were treated to an evening of dinner and dancing at the Ocean Room Patio which overlooks the beach. For a grand finale, the couple was whisked away through a showering light show of fireworks.
